Lee - Elizabeth Bible

Mrs. Elizabeth M. Lee, wife of Spencer Lee, passed away at 2 o'clock Friday morning at the family home, 607 Whitlock Avenue. Her death was caused by heart disease and followed a year's illness. Mrs. Lee was born near New Richmond May 31, 1865. She was the daughter of David and Rebecca Hall Bible and was united in marriage with Spencer Lee of Crawfordsville Oct 6, 1892. The marriage occurred at the home of Mr. and Mrs. RB Snyder, northwest of this city where Mrs. Lee resided following her mother's death. Mrs. Lee was a member of the First Methodist Church and Order of Eastern Star. Prior to placing her membership in the local chruch she was identified with the Mt. Zion United Brethren Church. The family left Crawfordsville in 1902 and rseided in New Mexico and Arkansas until 1922. Surviving are the husband, two children, Lucas of Rogers City, Michigan and Mrs. Mary Jack of Amorita, Ark and two grandchildren, Shirley and Charlottee DeGrang (sic). Mrs. Lee was the last of four children, two brothers and a sister having preceded her in death. The sister was the late Mrs. Charles White of this city. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the First Methodist Church and burail in Oak Hill Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church for an hour preceding the rites. The body was taken to the home Friday and friends may pay their respects there. - kbz
