Ledster - Daniel (Dani)

Again God in his infinite power has seen fit to call away from our midst another beloved sister, Miss Daniel Ledster. She was born December 17, 1881, and departed this life at 3 o’clock February 23, 1900, aged 18 years, 2 months and 6 days. The funeral services were conducted at the M. E. Church at Elmdale by Rev. Postill, of Wingate, and the remains were laid to rest in the Potts Cemetery.
She had that dreaded disease, consumption, but death came to take her sooner than expected. When she realized that she soon must go she told her father how she wanted to be laid away, and closed her eyes and she was gone. When her friends and relatives gathered around the coffin to take a last look of all that remained of the poor girl, they could not realize that she had lived and suffered death, but looked as one fresh from the hands of God, waiting for the breath of life.
It is hard to think that one just in the bloom of youth should be forced so early to lie down by the roadside to rest before half her journey had been completed. She has gone to meet mother, one brother and two sisters that have gone on before.
Miss Danie was a member of the M. E. Church at Elmdale and made her home most of the time after her mother’s death with her uncle and aunt at this place. Her aunt was so kind to her during her sickness, watching her as one of her own. She leaves a father, one brother and a host of relatives and friends to mourn her loss.
Mourn not, for we know that thou art gone to dwell with our dear Lord and what is your loss is her gain. May she rest in peace, and may her pure white soul forever dwell with the good angel, who took her by the hand and wandered away in the bowers of eternal summer.
The pallbearers were Will and Abe Larew, Joe Hutchinson, Lester Ollin, Chas. Utterback and Sherman Lee.
