Norris R. Leach, 67, of Columbus, Ohio, died Friday in Doctors Hospital West at Columbus. Mr. Leach was a retired employee of Westinghouse Corp, after 16 years of service. He was a World War II veteran, a captain in the Indiana State Guard and a member of the 89th Division. He served in ETO with three battle stars and received a Combat Infantry Badge with two bronze stars and the World War II Victory medal. He was a life member and past commander of American Legion Post 201 of West Jefferson, Ohio, and past 6th District Commander of Ohio; a member of the VFW and past Chef De Gare of Madison County Voiture 477 of the 408; a retired post member of the State Highway Patrol Auxiliary; a member of Rickly Lodge 670 F&AM, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Aladdin Temple Shrine and Rickly Chapter 468 OES. Born July 17, 1913, at Lixton, he was a son of Homer and Leonora Joseph Leach. He is survived by his wife, Bessie M.; two sons, Leonard A of Darlington, and Theodore L of San Diego, Calf.; two daughters, Lenora D. Coddington of Westminster, Calif., and Loretta J. Cox of Mesa, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Walter E. Leach of Darlington; and a niece. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lorene E. Carlson and a brother, J. Arthur Leach. Services were held at West Jefferson, Ohio. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association or the Central Ohio Lung Association.-- smc
