Layson - John

John Layson, aged 39 years, died Wednesday morning at the home of his father, on East College Street. The funeral occurred this morning at 10 o’clock under the auspices of the Odd Fellows fraternity, services conducted by Revs. Thomson and Creighton. The deceased leaves a wife and two small children. He was raised in this city and leaves a large circle of friends to mourn his death. He was a member of the old fire department and the bell on the city building was tolled this morning upon his death. The doctors hold a post mortem examination this afternoon to determine the cause of his death. – thanks to S for this one
