Minnie Layne Dies at Nursing Home - Mrs. Minnie Myrtle Layne, 78, a resident of Crawfordsville and vicinity most of her life, died Tuesday night in the Westbrook Nursing Home. She had been ill several months. Born May 24, 1879, in Putnam County, Mrs. Layne was the daughter of George and Mary Francis Owens. She married James Layne Dec. 27, 1899. She was a member of the First Christian Church. Mrs. Layne resided in Chrisman, Ill five years. Surviving are two sons, Forest D and Harold Layne and a daughter, Mrs. Ralph Dickerson, all of Crawfordsville, nine grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the Hunt & Son Funeral Home. Burial at Indian Creek Hill Cemetery. Rev. John R. Servies will be the officiating minister. Friends may call at the funeral home.
