Mrs. Lola E. Layne, 78, who lived at 504 E. Market St. for many years, died Monday morning at Culver Hospital. She had been in failing health for several months. Born in Crawfordsville on March 24, 1888, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Henry. She was married Dec. 3, 1926, to William E. Layne, who was a road contractor for many years. He preceded her in death on March 26, 1948. Mrs. Layne was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church. The survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Betty Hammerer of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bernard's Church, with Rt. Rev. Msgr. Henry F. Ward saying the requiem mass. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hunt & Son Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Tuesday. Rosary services will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
