VEEDERSBURG — Mrs. Mariam Layman, 62, of Rt. 3, Veedersburg, died at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday at Washington Court House, Ohio. Mrs. Layman was a retired employe of R. R. Donnelley & Son. She was a member of Sterling Christian Church and Business and Professional Women of Veedersburg. Born Sept. 19, 1914, she was a daughter of Burl and Alice Phipps Boord. She married Charles Layman on Sept. 30, 1950. He died in May 1952. Surviving are three brothers, Leighton and Joe Boord of Veedersburg and Robert Boord of Las Vegas, Nev.; two sisters, Mrs. Thelma Irwin of Veedersburg and Mrs. Helen Clements of Hillsboro; an aunt, Mrs. Dottie Hessler of Veedersburg; and nieces and nephews. Services are scheduled at 2 p.m. Saturday in Sterling Christian Church with the Rev. Richard Throckmorton officiating, assisted by the Rev. Tim Adams. Burial will be in Rockfield Cemetery. Friends may call at Parham Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Friday. --waw
