Mrs. George M. Lawton, aged 68 years, died last Tuesday at 1:30 o’clock after an extended illness, at the family home at Yountsville. She leaves a husband, three sons, and one daughter, Mrs. Wm Larrick. Mrs. Lawton was born in Devonshire, England, and came to this country with her husband in 1853. The funeral occurred on Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock at the Yountsville M. E. Church, the services being conducted by Rev. W. D. White. The interment took place at Oak Hill. - s

Same source: This neighborhood all attended the funeral of Mrs. George Lawton at Yountsville Tuesday. Her life for years has been one of intense pain which was born with patience and Christian forbearance. While she will be missed and her place vacant, we should rejoice in her release from pain and that she has gone to that eternal rest which she was fitted to enjoy.

Mrs. George M. Lawton, an old and respected resident of this place, passed peacefully away at her home last Monday night at 1:30 o’clock. Mrs. Lawton has had an extended illness and is now at rest
Through her illness she was not heard to murmur. She was a Christian and attended church whenever her health permitted. She was 68 years old and came to this county with her husband in 1853. Twelve children were born to them, four of whom survive, who with her husband and a host of friends are left to mourn her loss. The funeral occurred at the M. E. Church, Rev. W. D. White officiating. Interment was in Oak Hill.
