Mellott, May 17 - Mrs. Mary Lawson, 72, died of complications at 12:10 o'clock this afternoon at her home near here after a long illness. Mrs. Lawson had been in failing health for the past 5 years, but had not been seriously ill until the last few days. The dead woman was born Jan 20, 1859 in Fountain County northwest of Waynetown, the daughter of Henry and Ruth Fowler Murray. She was married 13 Jan 1881 to William A. Lawson who survives. She was afilliated with the South Christian Church, Mellott. Besides the husband, the survivors are a son, Marion of Mellott; a sister, Mrs. Martha Stembaugh of Mellott; a brother, James C. Murray of Essex, Iowa; 4 grandchildren and one great grandchild. One son died in infancy. Last rites for the deceased will be conducted from the South Christian Church here at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Burial will be at Waynetown masonic cemetery, Rev. Will Newlin of Crawfordsville will have charge.
