Roachdale - Damon P. "Ben" Lawrence, 77, of Roachdale died in Hendricks County Hospital at Danville. He was a retired race horse hand. Born April 29, 1898, he was a son of Guy E. and Mary E. Lawrence of Ladoga. Surviving are one son, Damon of Indianapolis; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Louise Hysong of Long Beach, Calif and Mrs. Martha Haworth of Washington, DC; 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Perkins Funeral Home at Ladoga. Burial will be in Ladoga Cemetery. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
