Waynetown – Mildred Laughner, 58, of Waynetown died unexpectedly at 11:14 p.m. Friday in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville. She had been admitted to the hospital on Thursday. Mrs. Laughner had lived at Waynetown since 1952 and in the area most of her life. She had been a cook on the hot-lunch program at the Waynetown Middle School for13 years. She was a member of the Waynetown Christian Church and related organizations and a member of the Half-Century Home Demonstration Club. She was a 1940 graduate of Waynetown High School. Born Dec. 7, 1922, near New Richmond, she was a daughter of Floyd and Edna Biddle Keller. She married James A. Laughner on Nov. 24, 1946. He survives. Also surviving are a son, Gary of Waynetown; three daughters, Mrs. James (Nancy) Gregg, Mrs. Steven (Patricia) Griffin and Mrs. Tom (Susan) Henthorn, all of Waynetown; two sisters, Mrs. Noel (Helen) Wilhite of Waynetown and Mrs. Richard (Grace) Clore of Rt. 1, Veedersburg; an uncle, Raymond Keller of Crawfordsville; four aunts, including Mrs. Edna Wilson of Mace and Mrs. Myrtle Swank of Rt. 3, Crawfordsville; and four grandchildren. Her parents and a brother are deceased. Services are scheduled at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with the Rev. Dorman Winger officiating. Burial will be in Wesley Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. today. The family requests that memorials be given to the heart and diabetic funds at the funeral home. smc
