LADOGA – Mrs. Elsie P. Laughlin, former resident of Ladoga, died Wednesday afternoon at her home, 1535 Pleasant St., Indianapolis. Mrs. Laughlin, 77, had been in failing health for the last few years. The deceased was the widow of Melvin Laughlin. The couple lived in Ladoga several years before they moved to Indianapolis. It was in the latter city that the husband died. While residing in Ladoga, Mrs. Laughlin was a member of the Christian Church. She was also active in its affiliated organization, the Golden Circle Class. Surviving are a daughter, Naomi Laughlin, who resided with her mother; a brother, Ancel Ferguson of Indianapolis; a sister, Mrs. Virgil Sutherlin of Roachdale, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the J. C. Wilson Chapel of Chimes at 1234 Prospect St., Indianapolis. Burial will be in Indianapolis. Friends may call at the funeral home. – jlr
