LARSH - Mrs. Jane Larsh, died August 4, 1875 from passive congestion of the lungs, caused from a paralytic stroke in the fall of 1871, 66 years of age. The funeral was conducted at the residence 7 miles west of this city by Elder MM VanCleave n last Thursday. The remains were interred at the Yountsville burying ground. Mrs. Larsh was born in Butler County, Ohio, July 27, 1809. Moved from there to Connersville, Ind in 1816, where she remained till 1826 whence she with her mother and father, moved to Montgomery County. At the age of 16 she joined the Old School Baptist Church. She was married to Toliver Larsh April 2, 1840, he having passed away some 5 years ago (died 11-8-1870). There is still surviving two sisters and two brothers, the oldest, William Gilkey, residing near Alamo. Her children are all left, except one to mourn her loss, 4 boys and two girls. She was always known by the simple words, "Aunt Jane." If any one had a friend it was her, she was, when in our midst, the throne, and the enjoyment of young folks company suited her. She never passed a Sunday without she had a great many to enjoy themselves in her presence. Aunt Jane was a woman that never let her passions in any way excite her. Every one that knew her, loved her; no beggar left her threshold without a pittance of some kind. But she is gone. Aunt Jane is gone, and her sufferings in this life are over, and she has passed to a far more happier home above. As a christian, she was devout and was never known to falter in the least. Oh! that we could see her back in that vacant room once more and hear her voice while silence was in every nook and corner. But alas, our Saviour has called her and she says "Good bye." Her children are now left alone, no mother, no father, both are gone, bu to a brither home in Heaven. Good bye Aunt Jane, good bye, we can never see you more, but we all hope that we may meet you on the other, brighter shore!"
