WAYNETOWN – G. Edward Larew, 66, Rt. 1, Waynetown died at 3 a.m. Sunday in Home Hospital at Lafayette. Mr. Larew was a retired farmer and carpenter. He was a lifelong resident of Waynetown and a member of Christian Union Church and Masonic Lodge 302 of Waynetown. He was a director of Crawfordsville Land Bank for more than 25 years and was a former Wayne Township trustee. He was born July 2, 1912, at Yountsville, a son of Abraham G. and Bertha Goff Larew. He was a 1930 graduate of Waynetown High School, and on Aug. 27, 1938, he was married to the former Una Schenck of Waynetown, who survives. Other survivors are a son, Edward E. Larew of North Salem; three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Rosalie) McMurry of Waveland, Mrs. Mel (Lois) Vance of Waynetown and Mrs. Phil (Sharon) Comingore of Madras, Ore.; three brothers, Charles Larew and Robert Larew, both of Waynetown, and Bill Larew of Rt. 4, Crawfordsville; five sisters, Mrs. Lena Sentman of Indianapolis, Mrs. Frank (Mary) Dregel of Philadelphia, Mrs. Tom (Betty) Ping of Logansport, and Mrs. Mildred Mellott and Mrs. Leslie (Ruth) Terry, both of Waynetown; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and Merle, and a grandchild. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with the Rev. Wesley Ehrie, the Rev. Dorman Winger and the Rev. Frank Howard officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. – jlr
