Owen E. Lape, 90, of Rt. 3, Covington, who had worked as a coal miner and logger and operated a house-moving firm, died Wednesday in St. Elizabeth at Danville, Ill. He had been a patient there three days and in ill health a year. Born March 14, 1884, in Warren County he was a son of Zachary and Nancy Ritchie Lape. He was first married to Lena Brakley, who died. His second marriage was in 1946 to Bertha Henry, who survives. Other survivors include two sons, Frederick T.. of Indianapolis and Edward E. of Covington; a granddaughter; three great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home here with the Rev. Robert Miller officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. today. --Typed by Debby Masterson.
