VEEDERSBURG -- Mrs. Mary Alice Lang, a 61-year old life-long resident of this community, died at 4:40 a.m. Sunday in Lakeview Hospital at Danville, Ill., where she had been a patient seven hours. Death was attributed to a cerebral hemorrhage. Mrs. Lang had been employed as cook at the Highland Court Restaurant the past year. She was a member of the Veedersburg Nazarene Church. She was born Feb. 10, 1902 in Warren County, a daughter of Albert B. and Sarah Jane Troxell Baldwin. She married Edward Lang in 1933. He died in October 1960. Surviving are two sons, Jack of Rt. 1 Veedersburg and Glenn of Rt. 2, Kingman; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Clawson of Veedersburg; two stepsons, Gerald Lang of Depot Bay, Ore. and Norval Lang of Tuscola, Ill; a step-daughter, Mrs. Fauniel Hollenbeck of Indianapolis; a brother, Albert (Jack) Baldwin of Veedersburg; four sisters, Mrs. Faye Griffin, Mrs. Alberta Craig and Mrs. India Woods, all of Veedersburg, and Mrs. Phoebe Miller of Portland; and six grandchildren. Funeral rites are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Nazarene Church here with Rev. D. L. Hiatt officiating. Interment will be in the Harveysburg Cemetery near Kingman. Friends may pay their respects at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home at Covington after noon Monday. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to services. - transcribed by kbz
