Veedersburg - Cecil Lang, 80, Rt 1, Veedersburg, died at 6:30 a.m. today in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Illinois where he had been a patient 3 days. Mr. Lang was a member of Newtown Baptist Church. He was born in Fountain County Nov 19, 1893, a son of Charlie and Emie Stone Lang. He was married to Vallie Shoup in Kansas Sept 25, 1916. She died in May 1972. Surviving are three sons, Donald of Veedersburg; Arthur of Hillsboro; and Charles of Conifer, Colorado; two daughters, Mrs. Glen (Martha) Briles of Fowler and Mrs. Richard (Betty) Brewer of Veedersburg; for sisters, Mrs. Maude Hilbert of Veedersburg; Mrs. Leatha Thomas of Michigan City; Mrs. Goldia Whitacker of Grand Rapids, Mich and Miss Sylvia Lang of Terre Haute; 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Parham Funeral Home at Veedersburg with Rev. Carl C. Vosse of Fowler officiating. Burial will be in Osborne Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Thursday. --kbz
