VEEDERSBURG — Mrs. Vallie Lang, 77, 507 W. VanBuren, Veedersburg, was stricken with a heart attack and died at 11 p.m. Tuesday at Lake View Hospital at Danville, Ill. Mrs. Lang, a member of the Baptist Church and a gold star member of War Mothers of Veedersburg, was born Oct. 5, 1894, in Kansas, the daughter of John and Martha Hollowell Shaup. She married Cecil Lang on Sept. 25, 1916. He survives. Other survivors include three sons, Arthur of Hillsboro, Charles of Conifer, Colo., and Donald of Veedersburg; two daughters, Mrs. Martha Briles of Fowler, Ind., and Mrs. Betty Brewer of Veedersburg; 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A son, Robert, was killed in the Korean War in November, 1952. Services for Mrs. Lang will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Parham Funeral Home with Harry Stidham officiating. Burial will be in Osborn Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Thursday. --waw
