Forrest L. Lane, 60, of Rt. 4, Crawfordsville, was fatally stricken at 5:15 p.m. Sunday at his home. Mr. Lane had been honored Saturday night as a 25-year employe of Mid-States Steel and Wire Co. He was a member of and deacon in the Center Christian Church north of Elmdale and its assistant Sunday school superintendent. He also was director of Faith Bible Conference, Inc. He was born near Elmdale Nov. 8, 1907, a son of Sherman and Belle (Watts) Lane. He was married to Frances E. Servies Nov. 26, 1932, at Danville, Ill. Surviving are the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Arkie (Margaret) McAlister and Mrs. David (Virginia) Crabtree; two brothers, Russell "Bill" Lane of Wingate And Richard "Beck" Lane of New Richmond; two sisters, Mrs. Lois Kunkle and Mrs. Helen Oppy, both of New Richmond; a uncle, Foster Watts of Waynetown; two aunts, Mrs. Sue Wainscott of Wingate and Mrs. Nell Vaught of Tuscon, Ariz., and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Tom, and his parents. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Center Christian Church with Rev. Frank Williams and George Boone officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call at Servies-Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown after 2 p.m. Tuesday. The body will lie in state at the church one hour before services.

WAYNETOWN—Funeral services for Forrest L. Lane were held Wednesday afternoon at Center Christian Church with Rev. Frank Williams of Frankfort and George Boone of Ladoga officiating. Organ music played by Mrs. O. C. Edwards included specially requested numbers, "How Great Thou Art" and "The Holy City.” Pallbearers were Roy Bunnell, C. W. Banta, Forrest Swank, William Dehne, C. R. Carlson, Leonard Siff, and James Wells. Flower bearers were Sharon and David McAlister, Kenneth and Phyllis Lane, Fred and Fannie Belle Adler, and Mesdames Olive Wells, Rose Dehne, Thelma Banta, Mary Swank, Ruth Bunnell, Luella Butler, Eileen Carlson, Minnie Williams, Bertha Boone, Ethel Watts, Doris Swick and Dorothea Siff. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery north of Elmdale.
