WINGATE, Ind. (CNS)—Mrs. Belle Lane, 85, died at 7:45 p.m. Saturday (March 16, 1968) at her home in Wingate. She had been bedfast for the past five years. Born June 19, 1882, in Coal Creek Township of Montgomery County, she was the daughter of John and Hepzebab Dasey Watts. She was married Oct. 22, 1904, at Crawfordsville to Sherman Lane, who died in 1964. Mrs. Lane had resided in Cotal Creek Township most of her life and moved to Wingate in 1945. She was educated at Round Hill and Patton schools. She was a member of the Center Christian Church, north of Elmdale, and the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include three sons, Forest of Crawfordsville Route 4, Russell "Bill" at home and Richard "Beck" of New Richmond; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Oppy and Mrs. Lois Kunkel, both of New Richmond; 15 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Paul and Robert, and a granddaughter. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Center Christian Church. The Rev. John R. Servies will officiate. Burial will be in the Oakland Cemetery. The body is at the Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown. Friends will be received after 4 p.m. Tuesday. The body will be taken to the church an hour before services.

WINGATE — Mrs. Belle Lane, 85, a resident of Coal Creek Township her entire life, died at her home here at 7:45 p.m. Saturday after a long illness. Mrs. Lane and her husband, Sherman, moved to Wingate after retiring from farming in 1945. She was a member of the Center Christian Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She attended Round Hill and Patton Schools. She was born June 19, 1882, a daughter of John and Hepzibah (Dazey) Watts. She married Sherman Lane at Crawfordsville Oct. 22, 1904. Surviving are three sons, Forest of Rt. 4, Crawfordsville, Russell of Wingate and Richard "Beck" of New Richmond; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Oppy and Mrs. Lois Kunkle, both of New Richmond; 15 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1961; two sons, Paul and Robert, and a granddaughter. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Center C'hristian Church with Rev. John Servies officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call at Servies-Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown after 4 p.m. Tuesday and until noon on Wednesday. The body will lie in state at the church one hour before services.

WAYNETOWN — Funeral services for Mrs. Belle Lane were held at the Center Christian Church north of Elmdale. Rev. John Servies and Brother George Boone, pastor of the church, officiated. Mrs. Iva Kennedy played organ music. The pallbearers were grandsons of the deceased, Tom Oppy, Roger Kunkel, Gene Lane, Kenneth Lane, Durrell Kelp and Arkie McAlister. Twenty-five grandchildren and great-grandchildren served as flower bearers. Burial was in the Oakland Cemetery.
