Lamson - Herbert

Again has the death angel entered our midst and claimed as its own little Herbert, only child of Charley and Jennie Lamson. His illness was of short duration and he was taken away, as it seemed, almost in the twinkling of an eye. He was the idol of his parents, the life and light of their home, and they feel in their bereavement that they have lost all in life that was dear to them. It seems strange that such beautiful young lives should be cut so short, and as we took the last look at him as he lay in the casket we could scarcely realize that he had lived and suffered death. But the all wise Father doeth all things well and we can only say, “Thy will, not mine be done.”  Short services were conducted at the residence by JN Britton after which his dear little form was laid to rest in Oak Hill Cemetery.  Herbert H. Lamson was born Aug 3, 1897, died Nov 17, 1900 aged 3 years, 3 months 14 days.  The grief stricken parents have the sympathy of the entire community in their great sorrow and we can only comfort them by saying trust in God who gave, and who only can take away and may they be brought to realize that there is no death, an angel form walks o’er the earth with silent tread. It steals our best loved ones away and then we call them dead … his aunt - transcribed by kbz
