Leonard L. Lamkin, 52, of Linden rural route 1, died at 5:30 a. m. Friday at St. Elizabeth hospital, of injuries received at 5 p. m. Thursday when he walked in front of a car driven by Henry Rauch, 70, Lafayette route 7, on state road 43 a mile north of Linden. Lamkin stepped from a car driven by Orville Shumate, of Crawfordsville, and was crossing the road to his home when the accident occurred. He was employed by J. R. Ross, Lafayette building contractor, and was returning from work. Lamkin was brought to the hospital in the King ambulance. He suffered internal injuries and a broken leg. Married to Iva Montgomery in 1916, he is survived by the widow, four daughters, Mrs. Vera Grenard, Wingate, and the Misses Virginia, Geneva and Dorothy, at home; a brother, Clarence, Beach Grove, and a sister, Mrs. Iva Richardson, Hopkinsville, Ky. Friends may call at the family home. Services, in charge of the King funeral home, at 2 p. m. Sunday at the family residence, Rev. Leslie Ross officiating; burial in New Richmond cemetery. State Policeman James Gilliland and Coroner Lowell S. Smith investigated.
