Crawfordsville, Ind – Donny Lake, 16, son of Mr. and Mrs. Luther Lake of Downers Grove, Ill died in a hospital here today of a bullet wound in the abdomen which he said he suffered accidentally Sunday when he discharged a rifle while climbing a fence. The accident occurred on the farm of his grandmother, Mrs. James Lake near Hillsboro. The boy said he and a companion, Jackie Congleton had taken the rifle for some target practice in a woods. – 1945 - kbz
