Darlington, Oct 19 - Mrs. Mary E. LaFollette, 77, resident of the community all her life, died suddenly at her home here at 5:45 o'clock Monday afternoon. Coroner A.L. Loop said her death was caused by a stroke. Born in Franklin Twp, May 27, 1860, Mrs. LaFollette was the daughter of Absolom and Martha Elmore. She was married to Thomas Wallace LaFollette Dec 24, 1884. Mr. Lafollette died several years ago. Mrs. LaFollette was a member of the Friends Church. Surviving are three children, Mrs. Edith Quigg and Mrs. Hazel Peebles, both of Darlington and Miss Edna LaFollette at home and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 o'cclok Thursday at the home in Darlington, Rev. Elmore in charge. Burial will take place at Shannondale Cemetery. - transcribed by kbz

LaFollette, 77 died at her home here at 5:45 o’clock this afternoon.  Mrs. LaFollette was born near here May 27, 1860 and married Thomas Wallace LaFollette Dec 14, 1884. She was a member of the Friend’s Quaker Church near Darlington.  Surviving are three daughters: Mrs. Edith Quigg of near Shannondale; Mrs. Hazel Peebles of near Darlington and Miss Edna LaFollette at home. - kbz
