Friends and relatives of Stephen Lennon gathered at St. Bernard Catholic
Church Saturday morning where they attended the last rites for the former
resident of Crawfordsville. Mr. Lennon passed away Jan 30 at his home in
Monroe, LA his body being brought to the home of Miss Mary O´Mara at 109 Morgan
St, Friday afternoon. The remains were kept at the O´Mara home until time for
the service, many friends of the family paying their respects there. The
funeral services were conducted by Rev. William Sullivan and the burial was
made at Calvary Cemetery. The high regard in which Mr. Lennon was held by his
friends at Monroe and in this city was shown by the many floral tributes that
were received at the O´Mara home. The pall bearers for the services were
Walter Kelly; WC Murphy; Neal Mahoney; Dan Mahoney; William Fell and John
Sullivan. Mr. Lennon visited at the O´Mara home recently when Miss O´Mara´s
mother passed away. He appeared to be in good health at that time. Soon after
returning to Monroe he was stricken with a heart attack and died suddenly.
