Indianapolis March 12 -- Stephen E. LEE, 71, a member of a pioneer Indiana
family died today at the home here of a daughter Mrs. Loman I. Brayton. He was
born in Crawfordsville the son of John and Letitia West Lee and lived there
most of his life coming to Indianapolis 12 years ago. His father was said to be
the first white child born in Montgomery County. Mr. Lee was engaged in the
insurance business and at one time was assistant state geologist. He married Miss
Nora Miller of Allentown PA in 1893. He was a member of the Episcopal Church of
Advent. Survivors are the widow, two daughters, Mrs. Brayton and Miss Bettie
Lee and a granddaughter, Betty Lee Brayton. Funeral services will be held at
2:30 p.m. Monday in the Advent Church and burial will be in Crown Hill
Cemetery.
