William Layne, of Brown township, a brother of Dr. PM Layne of this city, died on Thursday morning about 10 o'clock from a relapse of the grip and pneumonia. bout 3 years ago he had an attack of the typhoid fever, from which he never fully recovered and resulted in dropsy, but the immediate cause of his death was as above stated. Mr. Layne was about 70 years of age and has been a resident of Brown Twp for 60 years. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church and was in all respects a model citizen, a good neighbor and a kind friend. He leaves a wife, two sons and two daughters, his children all being married but one. The funeral services will be held on Sunday at 10 o'clock at his late residence and will be conducted by Rev Cornelius Airhart. Interment at Old Hickory Cemetery.
