The Journal a few days ago chronicled the sad news of the death of Mrs. George Krug, who passed away on Wed Jan 4, after an illness of several months caused by cancer. She was first taken sick about June 1 and since Aug 8 was bedfast. The funeral occurred last Fri. afternoon at the Christian church, being conducted by the pastor, Rev. Wallace Tharp. Mrs. Krug was b. July 7, 1854 near Lost River in Washington County, Indiana her maiden name being Miss Eva Hubbard, and her parents, William C. and Calina Hubbard. At the age of 14 she moved with her parents to Darlington and later to Pleasant Hill, where on the Thursday between Christmas and New Year's day, 1871, she was marr. to George Krug. Four children were b. to them: Jessie, now Mrs. Green of Indianapolis; Emory; Owen and Lizzie May. The two latter will make their home with Mrs. Green hereafter. Mrs. Krug was a lady of very many Christian virtues and since the age of 12 has been a member of the Christian church, not merely a nominal member but an active one in every sense of the word. Nothing was ever allowed to interfere with her duties to the church of family and she is sincerely mourned by a large circle of friends. The family wish to convey to those who have been so kind during the illness and death of Mrs. Krug their heartfelt thanks.- typed by kbz
