After her marriage she and her husband resided near Ladoga and later near Indianapolis and still later in Fountain and Montgomery counties. In early life she united with the New Light Christian Church and lived a consistent Christian life until the end. Her husband passed away 31 years ago since which time she has resided with her children and for some time past with her daughter, Mrs. Samuel Fruits. She in ill health for years and seriously ill for the past three weeks and while all was done for her that could be done, yet it was without avail, for in the hour’s of Tuesday July 21st she passed away at the home of her daughter in alamo at the age of 77 yeas and 25 days leaving to mourn eight children, John Krout of St. Louis, Mo; James of Alamo; Mrs. May Keller of Veedersburg; Otto Krout of Alamo; Mrs. Myrtle Keller of New Market; Mrs. Minnie Fruits of Ladoga; Mrs. Rosa Morrison of Crawfordsville; Mrs. Katie Fruits of Alamo; 31 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends. Truly she was a good woman, a devoted mother and one to whom her children had been spared for all these years. She has paid the price that all have or will be obliged to pay. She has gone on unto her reward and may peace be unto the departed soul.
Cards of thanks we wish in this way to thank you friends and neighbors for their kindness during the illness, death and burial of our dear mother and to the many friends for the floral offerings. Children of Mrs. Fannie Krout.
