Kritz - Mary Myers

Mrs. Mary Maye Myers KRITZ, 80, widow of Charles S. Kritz, died at 11:50 a.m. Saturday at the home of her brohter and sister, Ernest M. Myers and Mrs. Helen Myers Burgess, 405 School St. The death of Mrs. Kritz followed an extended illness. The brother and sister are the only immediate survivors. Mrs. Kritz, born in Crawfordsville Aug 20, 1868 came from a pioneer family. Her parents were Noah Elias Myers and Elizabeth P. McClelland Myers prominent residents of Crawfordsville. For many years her father was a retail merchant having been engaged in business as senior partner in the dry goods firm of Myers & Charnt. Mrs. Kritz attended grade school in Crawfordsville. She was married April 5, 1893. A high school teacher and grade school principal for a number of years, Mr. Kritz was later a merchant in Waveland. Mr. Kritz was the son of Prof. Henry S. Kritz, for many years a professor of Greek and English in Wabash College. Since the death of her husband, in Dec. 29, 1942, Mrs. Kritz had lived with her brother and sister in the family residence on South Washington Street until moving into their new home recently. Mrs. Kritz was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church. At the time of her death she held membership in the Wabash Avenue Church in Crawfordsville Order of Eastern Star, Waveland and Women's Relief Corps and Daughter sof the American Revolution. Dr. RG Riemann, past or fWabash Avenue Church had charge of the funeral services which were conducted in Bright Funeral Home, at 2:00 Tuesday afternoon. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery
