Mrs. Mary Kritz died at her home on West Street, Tuesday afternoon after a long illness. Funeral services were held at the family residence yesterday afternoon, conducted by Rev. SV McKee. Interment at the Presbyterian Cemetery. Mary A. Brush was the eldest of the five children of Blakely and Rebecca Brush, was born in the Eastern part of Brown Township, Oct 27, 1833. In 1847 she became a member of the Waveland Presbyterian church under the pastorate of Rev. Samuel Taylor. On April 5, 1854, she was married to Prof. Henry S. Kritz, who with 11 children, survive her. Thus passes one of the best of mothers and truest of friends, a splendid woman, held in high esteem by the entire community. A Christian woman in the fullest sense. The days of her sickness were full of suffering, but the Christ in whom she had such trust comforted her. She had the largest love for her children and they in return gave her the full devotion of loving hearts. She died as Christians die, full of the hope of an immortal life in a better and brighter clime than this. The comfort of her hope was bequeathed to her family, to whom she gave full assurance that it was with her soul. "This ray of God's good mercy gilds the darkness of their night." --kz

The wife of Prof. H. S. Kritz, late of Wabash College, died at her home in Waveland Tuesday evening after an extended illness. Her condition had been critical for some time and her death was not a surprise.

Mrs. Kritz was a sister of the late Wm T. Brush, and the mother of Chas Kritz, of this city. She was almost seventy years old and was the mother of twelve children, eleven of whom survive her. She was an estimable Christian lady of many excellent traits of character and her demise is universally regretted.

The funeral occurred at the home Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock conducted by Rev. S. V. McKee. Interment was at the Presbyterian Cemetery in Waveland. -s
