His constant suffering was borne with much patience, forbearance, and resignation. And we would not call him back from the peaceful rest that he so much longed for. The greater part of his life was spent in the community, with the exception of a number of years, when he was employed in business in Crawfordsville. His first business experience, was as a youth, under the employment of J.C. Burton, a hardware dealer of this place. In later years he was engaged in directing a farm. In young manhood he became a member of the Waveland Presbyterian Church. Always, when a public moral question was at issue, his attitude was for the right. He was a great lover of children, and was beloved by them in turn. Nothing afforded him greater enjoyment than a sociable chat with friends. He was united in marriage to Miss Grace McCampbell on June 25, 1903. Those left to mourn his, loss are the wife, five sisters and three brother; Mrs. R.V. Hunter, of Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. W.L. Straughan of Crawfordsville, Mrs. G.M. Cowan, Mrs. C.A. Kleiser and Mrs. B.M. Harbeson of Waveland, F.W. Kritz of Inglewood, Calif., Charles S. and Herbert S. Kritz of Waveland, with five nieces, two nephews and a host of friends. Among those present from a distance were Mr. And Mrs. Taylor Groninger and Mrs. Carl Patterson, of Indianapolis, Dr. and Mrs. W.L. Straughan and A.C. Deere of Crawfordsville.
