Charles E. Kottkamp, 63, of Lafayette, died at 7:31 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2000 in Home Hospital. Mr. Kottkamp was a maintenance coordinator of utilities for Eli Lily and Co. for 36 years, retiring in 1992. Born April 26, 1937, in indianapolis, he was the son of the late Fred and Ida Kottkamp. He had lived in the Lafayette area since 1958 when he moved from Indianapolis. Mr. Kottkamp was a member of Armstrong United Methodist Church. He had served in the · National Guard. Surviving, are: a daughter, Polly (Alan) Hofmeyer of Otterbein; three sons, Byce Kottkamp of Greenfield, Cory (Jill) Kottkamp of Crawfordsville and Kyle (Amy) Kottkamp of Otterbein; his stepmother, Ada Kottkamp of Michigan; two sisters, Carol Unversaw of Mooresville and Janet (Jim) Bedwell of Whiteland; a brother, Kenneth Kottkamp of Greenfield; seven grandchildren, Brandon, Brady, Brad, Justin and Sarah Kottkamp and Samuel and Benjamin Hofmeyer. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Maryann Lassiter and a brother, Fred Kottkamp Jr. Memorial services were held Friday at Armstrong United Methodist Church, Green Hill, with Rev. Roy Laudermilk officiating. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association. Soller-Baker Funeral Homes in charge of arrangements. – jlr
