Mrs. Anna May Kostanzer, wife of Herman P. Kostanzer, one of Crawfordsville's veteran merchants, died suddenly about 11 o'clock Saturday morning at Culver Hospital. Death attributed to embolism, came while Mrs. Kostanzer who was 63 years of age was apparently convalescing from a hip fracture, suffered in a fall on the kitchen floor at her home 307 S. Washington St, Tuesday Oct 21. Mrs. Kostanzer was born at Hoopeston ILL on Aug 11, 1873, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs.Joseph Galey who later became residents of this County, living on a farm near this city. On June 18, 1900 she was married to Herman P. Kostanzer, member of a firm of pioneer furniture merchants. Mrs. Kostanzer was educated in the local schools and was a member of the Wabash Ave Presbyterian church. She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Jenaette Crisler of Marion IN who was at her mother's beside when death occurred, four grandchildren all living in Marion; three sisters, Mrs. Lou Wade and Mrs. Daisy Barnes of Long Beach Calif and Mrs. Amos Hays of near Crawfordsville and one brother, Will Galey of Long Beach. The body was removed to the Utterback & Murphy funeral home. The funeral will probably be held from the late residence at 307 S. Washington Tuesday morning in charge of Dr. RG Riemann of the Wabash Ave Presbyterian Church. The body will be taken from the funeral home to the Kostanzer residence Sunday where friends may pay their respects.

Crawfordsville – Mrs. Anna May Kostanzer, 68 years old, wife of Herman Kostanzer local merchant died today at Culver Hospital. Mrs. Kostanzer, a leader in social affairs of this city was believe recovering from a recent hip fracture. The husband, a daughter, a brother and three sisters survive.
