George Koon, a well-known and respected citizen of Wingate, died Thursday of lung fever having been a invalid for a year past. The deceased was almost 35 years of age and leaves a wife and four children. The funeral will occur Saturday. Interment at the Christian Cemetery at Wingate. - transcribed by kbz

Sale of Real Estate- in the matter of the estate of George W. Koon, deceased. Notice is hereby given that by virtue of an order of the Montgomery Circuit Court the undersigned, Administrator of the estate of George W. Koon, deceased will offer for sale at the south door of the court house in the city of Crawfordsville, Indiana at public sale to the highest and best bidder on Monday the 7th of February 1898 between the hours of 10 o'clock a.m. and 4 o'clock p.m. of said day the following described real esate situated in the county of Montgomery State of Indiana towit: Part of the west half of the southeast 1/4 of section 15 in township 20 north of range six West bounded as follows: Beginning 5 chains and 60 links south of the northwest corner of said quarter section and running thence south 23 chains and 4 links to the northwest corner of Theodore Hixon's land thence east 19 chains and 90 links to a point of the half 1/4 section line, thence north 23 chains and 4 links, thence west 19 chains and 90 links to the place of beginning, containing 45 and 84 hundredths acres including the interest of Serena Koon and free and clear of all liens and incumbrances. Terms of Sale 1/3 cash in hand at time of sale, 1/3 in six and the remain third in 12 months from date of sale, the purchaser to execute his notes payable to the undersigned for the deferred payments drawing six % interest from date without relief from valuation or appraisement laws and with attorney's fees and secured by mortgage upon said land - Frank Cottrell, Administrator
