Covington - John L. "Jake" Koebler, 86, a life Covington resident, died at 5:20 p.m. Monday in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Ill. He was a building contractor and for several years had been employed as an engineer with the National Park Service at Yellowstone National Park. Mr. Koebler was a member of Tidal Lodge 36, K of P, and attended the United Methodist Church. He was born Oct 1, 1886, at Covington, a son of Theodore and Minnie Goldbach Koebler. He married Ruth Beers April 30, 1928, who survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Helen) Collins of Lafayette. He was preceded in death by a sister, a brother and a grandchild. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home here. with Rev. Robert Miller officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
