Calvin C. Knox, 73, a retired 43-year city employee, died at 1 a.m. today at a friend’s home in Indianapolis. He had lived at 908 Vandalia St. He was employed by the Crawfordsville Light & Power Co., Park Department and at the City Building. Mr. Knox was a member of the First Christian Church and Woodman Lodge. He had attended Crawfordsville High School. Mr. Knox was born near Ladoga on Dec. 22, 1900, a son of Elisha Hillery and Mary Dickerson Knox. He was married to Mary M. Middleton. She died in 1969. Survivors include a son, Calvin C. Jr. “Jim” of Crawfordsville; a daughter, Mrs. Betty Arndt of Crawfordsville; two brothers, Charles of Crawfordsville and Delbert of near Ladoga, and three grandchildren, Trudy Booher, Mary L. Arndt and Jennie Knox of Crawfordsville. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Hunt & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Charlotte Hotopp Zachary and Dick Baker officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Friday. – jlr
