Hillsboro - Mrs. Bea Knox, 75, a native and life resident of Hillsboro, died at noon Saturday (Jan. 22, 1972) in Methodist Hospital at Indianapolis, where she had been a patient since Dec. 28, 1971 with burns suffered in a fire at her home. She and her husband, Earl, operated the Hillsboro Tavern for 32 years until retiring in 1965. Mrs. Knox was a member of Hillsboro Christian Church, Fern Chapter 184 of the Order of Eastern Star, and Hillsboro American Legion Auxiliary. She was born Dec. 26, 1896 in Hillsboro to Frank and Carrie Tucker Bailey. She attended school here and married Mr. Knox on June 21, 1928 at Paris, Ill. Surviving besides her husband are a daughter, Mrs. Jean Wood; a sister, Miss Betty Bailey of Hillsboro, and a grandson. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Tuesday at Crumley-Williams Funeral Home where friends may call at 3-5 and 7-9 pm today. Rev. Jerome McCoy will officiate, with interment in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.
