Newtown - Albert "Bert" Knowles, 76 of Newtown, died at 4:45 p.m. Thursday (7-29) in Culver Hospital, Crawfordsville. He was a retired farmer. Mr. Knowles was a member of the Newtown United Methodist Church and attended Rob Roy and Beulah School near Newtown. He was born May 18, 1900 near Attica to Albert & Lois Fink Knowles. He was married to Mary Dewlin on Jan 25, 1922. Survivors are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Phillip (Thelma) Crubaugh of Wabash; a son, Robert of Wingate; a sister, Mrs. Everett (Vera) Miller of Veedersburg; six grandaughters and six great grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m Sunday in Crumley-William Funeral Home at Hillsboro with Rev. Donald Watson officiating. Burial in Mt. Hope at Covington. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Saturday. - transcribed by kbz
