Veedersburg - Funeral services for George Wesley (Newt) Knee, age 42, a resident of Crawfordsville and brother of Mrs. Mary Stout of Veedersburg, who died Monday afternoon, Nov 9, were held at 3:30 p.m. today, Nov 11, at the Hunt and Son Funeral Home in Crawfordsville. The Rev. Howard Miller officiated and burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery. Mr. Knee, who had been in failing health two weeks succumbed to a heart ailment. He was born March 19, 1922, at Newtown to Frank and Cordelia Curans Knee. He was married April 7, 1941, to Mattie Frances Logsden, who survives. He had been in the plumbing and heating business all his life. He was graduated from Wingate High School. Mr. Knee was a veteran of the second world war where he served in the 222nd Quartermaster Battalion. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Barbara Largent of Crawfordsville and Mrs Kathy Ryan of near New Richmond; two brothers, James Knee of Crawfordsville and Sam Knee of Jonesboro five sisters, Mrs. Helen Pipher, Mrs. Laura Newlin and Mrs Mattie Whilhite of Crawfordsville, Mrs Myrtle Stephens of Mellott and Mrs. Stout of Veedersburg: and one granddaughter.

Funeral services for George Wesley (Newt) Knee were held Wednesday afternoon in the Hunt and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Howard F. Miller officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers and assisting with the floral tributes were Keith Stephens, George Hutchison, Walter Largent, John Smith, Richard Wilhite and J.D. Stephens. Selections were played on the organ by Mrs. O.C. Edwards. Mr. Knee, local plumbing and heating contractor, died Monday afternoon in Culver Hospital
