Waynetown, Jan 26 - Rice Kline, 78, well known Montgomery County farmer, died suddenly today of a heart attack at his home, one and one half miles east of here. He was stricken about 8 o'clock and died almost instantly. A native of Casey, Ill, Mr. Kline was born Sept 12, 1860, the son of William A. and Elizabeth Cole Kline. He was married to Florence M. Thompson, March 26, 1884, and since his marriage had been a resident of Waynetown and vicinity. Mr. Kline was a member of the Waynetown Masonic and K o f P lodges and was one of the most successful farmers in the county. Although he had been afflicted with the infirmities of advanced age for some time, his death was unexpected. Surviving are the widow, two sons, WD Kline of Crawfordsville and John D. Kline of Waynetown, two daughters, Mrs. Gaylen Blackford of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Ruth J. Rosen of Waynetown, six grandchildren one brother, Edward Kline of Terre Haute and a sister, Mrs. Retta Davis of Albany, Oregon. Funeral services will be held at the late residence at 1:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon with Rev. IC Overman in charge. Burial will be made at the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. - transcribed by kbz

Waynetown, Jan 26 – Rice Kline, 78,
prosperous farmer, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at 8 o’clock this
morning while assisting in butchering at his home, one and one-half miles east
of here. Born at Casey, Ill, he was married here March 26, 1884 to Florence M.
Thompson and had lived in this community ever since. He was a Mason and Pythian. Surviving are the
widow; four children, WD Kline and Mrs. Pearl Blackford, Crawfordsville, John
D. Kline of near here, with a brother, Edward Kline, Terre Haute and sister,
Mrs. Retta Davis, Albany, Ore. The funeral will be held at the residence
Saturday at 1:30 p.m.; Rev. IC Overman will officiate, with burial in the
Masonic cemetery.
