Waynetown - John Cline, 85, a retired farmer, died Sunday afternoon on his farm near here. Mr. Cline was a life-long area resident and was a member of the Montgomery County Farm Bureau. He was educated in Waynetown schools. He was born Sept 11, 1888, near Waynetown to Rice L. and Florence Thompson Cline. He was married to Mary C. Owens Oct 18, 1906. He is survived by his wife, a son Russell of Crawfordsville; a daughter, Edna Hale Legg of Crawfordsville; six foster children: Mrs. Edith Snyder of Waynetown; Roy Smith of Sun Valley, Calif; Ralph Smith of Crawfordsville; Kenneth Smith of Kokomo; Lester Smith of Minetonka, Minn and Mrs. Mary Alice Sullivan of Chattanooga, Tenn; a sister, Mrs. Ruth Rosen of Crawfordsville; 22 grandchildren, including Mike Cline who was reared in their home and several great and great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Servies-Thomas Funeral Home here with Rev. Stephen Malone officiating and the Rev. Jack Swank assisting. Burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday.-- kbz
