Kline - Alta Ward

Alta Ward Kline, 87 of Little Rock, Ark and formerly of Crawfordsville died today at the North Little Rock Memorial Hospital after a short illness. She was born August 26, 1897 at Veedersburg a daughter of Grant and Mary Ward. She was married Sept 12, 1935 at Kokomo to William David "Dick" Kline. Her uncle, John Rosenbarger, married the couple. Her husband preceded her in death Dec 26, 1963. She was a member of the First Christian Church here and served as president of the Christian Women's Fellowship. She organized the Senior Citizens Chorus here. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. L.D. (Bettie) Redden of Little Rock and Mrs. Forrest (Sue) Cummings of Richardson, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Russell (Maxine) Horner of Crawfordsville and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. in Burkhart Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Brigman officiating. Burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 3-5 and 7-8 p.m. Monday. - kbz
