James Kleiser died at his home in
Cloverdale, California on Sunday. Mr. Kleiser was born in Bourbon County about
88 years ago. He lived a number of years in this vicinity, where he followed
the business of carpentering. He designed the first bridge over the Wabash at
Lafayette. He was a Forty-niner and in 1853 took up his permanent residence in
California, where he has been an active and public spirited citizen. Latterly
he has been engaged in fruit raising. - kbz
