Wingate -- Milton Kirkpatrick, 72-year-old WWI veteran and a farmer in this area most of his life, died of pneumonia at 7:45 p.m. Thursday at the Indiana Soldiers Home near Lafayette. He had been in failing health several years, his condition becoming serious two weeks ago. Mr. Kirkpatrick was born in Tippecanoe County Jan 20, 1893, a son of Noah and Laura Jones Kirkpatrick. He attended the Walnut Grove School and was a member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church. He served in the Army in the first World War. He was married May 18, 1925 to Lena C. Jeffries at the Methodist parsonage in New Richmond. She preceded him in death. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Jean Lohorn of Wingate; a sister, Mrs. Bertha M. Oswalt of Roachdale; three grandchildren, Mike, Scott and Lena Kay Lohorn, and a niece and several cousins. Funeral services are announced for 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Servies Funeral Home in Waynetown where friends may call. Rev. Scott Comrie will official and burial in New Richmond cemetery.

Wingate - Milton H. Kirkpatrick, 72, died of pneumonia at 7:45 pm Thursday in the Soldiers Home Hospital, Lafayette, after being seriously ill two weeks. He had been in failing health two years. He was born in Tippecanoe County and farmed most of his life. In 1925 he was married to Lena C. Jeffries, who died in 1961. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of Pleasant Hill Christian Church. He had lived at the Soldiers Home since 1961. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Jean Lohorn of Wingate and a sister, Mrs. Bertha Oswalt of Roachdale.
