Wingate - Laura Effie KIRKPATRICK, 92, a resident of this area most of her adult life, died at 6:50 p.m. Friday in Bowles Convalescent Home, Clarks Hill where she had been a patient since Feb 1970. She was one of 11 children of John and Sarah Elizabeth Keller Cooper and was born Jan 7, 1881 in Lukin Township of Lawrence Co, IL. She married Claude Vandament in 1898. He died in 1903. Her second marriage was with Quin Kirkpatrick who died in 1957. Mrs. Kirkpatrick lived on a farm near Wingate until moving into town in 1959. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Lucinda Vandament of Bebee, Ark and nieces and nephews. Among those preceding her in death were a daughter, Mrs. Hattie Shobe and a grandson, Claude Shobe. Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday in Servies-Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with Rev. Tom True of Wingate United Methodist Church officiating. Burial at Bridgeport, IL.
