Lester Kirk, 76, native of the Bowers community, died Thursday at his home on Rt. 3, Thornville, Ohio. He was born Aug. 18, 1893, the son of James Kirk. Surviving are the wife, Thelma; a daughter, Mrs. Vivian Hane of Columbus, Ohio; a son James, also of Columbus; a sister, Mrs. Stella Summers of Detroit, Mich.; seven grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. Services are set for 10 a.m. Monday at the Charles Boring Funeral Home at Thornville. Burial will be in the Lithopolis Cemetery (note: Fairfield County, Ohio Miller Addition Part I Lot 20, Grave 2). Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday. – jlr
