Waynetown, Feb 1 - Fred Early Kinney, 60, a veteran of the first World War, died suddenly Tuesday morning at his home one and one half miles southwest of here. He had been ill the past year with a heart ailment. Born August 26, 1888 at Potomac, ill, Mr. Kinney was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Kinney. He married Bertha Web of Illinois May 26, 1926. Mr. Kinney had engaged in farming most of his life. He was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church and Waynetown Post No. 445 of the American Legion. He enlisted in the Army July 24, 1918 and discharged Jan 5, 1919. Surviving are the widow; a son Harry at home; two brothers, John and Oscar Kinney both of Correctionville, iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Lillian Coyl of Ida Grove, iowa and Mrs. Mary Baker of Potomac, Ill, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Grenard & Servies Funeral Home with burial at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery, Rev. John N. Cassady of the Baptist Church will officiate. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home.
