LADOGA – Mrs. Mary Brooksie King, 73, longtime resident of Ladoga, died at 7 a.m. Thursday at her home, 214 E. Taylor St. She had been in failing health for six months. Mrs. King had lived in Ladoga for 34 years. Born April 1, 1891, in Stepstone, Ky., she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Henry. Her first marriage was in 1906 to Espy G. Hart. He preceded his wife in death Feb. 18, 1930. On Dec. 24, 1930, she married Ross King in Newton, Ill. The husband survives. Mrs. King was a member of the Sugar Grove Christian Church in Sugar Grove, Ky. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Lester Jackson of Russellville; three sons, William Leonard Hart of Covington, Glenzo Raymond Hart of Bainbridge and Everett J. Hart of Waynetown; 13 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. Other survivors include two stepdaughters, four stepsons 19 step-grandchildren and 22 step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Gephart Funeral Home in Ladoga. Burial will be in the Ladoga Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Friday. – jlr
