Dr. Hurschell D. Kindell of Crawfordsville, age 80, died Friday afternoon, October 3, in Culver Hospital at Crawfordsville. Dr. Kindell retired in 1978 after serving for 52 years in New Richmond. He was born at Wingate, January 15, 1901, the son of Hanson and Anna Kindell. August 2, 1924, he married Beulah Haas, who survives.
A graduate of Wingate High School and Indiana University, he was a member of New Richmond United Methodist Church, American Academy of Family Practice, American Medical Association, Indiana Medical Association, Indianapolis Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine, Elks Lodge and was a 50-year member of New Richmond Masonic Lodge.
Also surviving are a daughter, Shirley Stoker of Crawfordsville; a son, William of Covington; a brother, Dorsey; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Hunt and Son Funeral Home in Crawfordsville with Rev. Barry Fitzgerald officiating. Burial was in New Richmond Cemetery. - s

NEW RICHMOND - Hurschell D. Kindell, 80, of 2008 Country Club Road Crawfordsville, who retired in 1978, after serving as New Richmond's doctor for 52 years, died at 3 p.m. Friday in Culver Hospital. The Wingate High School and Indiana University graduate was typical of the fervent small-town doctor, handling the medical problems for the northwest corner of the county, an area where he was born and raised. He was a member of the American Academy of Family Practice, Americam Medical Association, Indiana State Medical Association, New Richmond United Methodist Church, Murat Shrine, Elks Lodge and Indianapolis Valley of Scottish Rite. He was a 50-year member of New Richmond F & A M. He was graduated from Wingate High school in 1919, I. U. in 1923 and I. U. Medical School in 1924. He served one year of his internship in service with the U. S. Army. He was born in Wingate on Jan. 15, 1901, a son of Hanson and Anna Kindell. He was married to Beulah Haas on Aug. 2, 1924, at Danville, Ill. Surviving besides his wife are a son, William of Covington; a daughter, Shirley Stoker of Crawfordsville; a brother, Dorsey Kindell; four grandchildren; and three grandchildren. A private service will be conducted at Hunt & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Barry Fitzgerald officiating. Burial in New Richmond Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 5-9 p.m. today. New Richmond Masonic Lodge will conduct services. The family requests that donations be made in the form of donations to the eye bank. - jlr
